Soldiers Speak Out: A Call for Action, 1945-01-01 - 1946-12-31
Scope and Contents
The letter expresses frustration with the War Department's decision and the confusion it has caused among soldiers. Suggestions are made for revising the Redeployment Policy, including revising estimates for personnel needed, reviewing low-pointers eligible for replacements, discontinuing discharge of non-essential personnel, continuing the draft, reducing personnel at United States installations, providing statistics on personnel, allowing veterans to return to the U.S., establishing a clear State and War Department policy, and eliminating the shortage of civilian personnel. The letter concludes with a plea for action to address the concerns of soldiers.
