Scope and Contents

Mrs. Joe G. Thurber wrote to Congressman George B. Schwabe requesting assistance in getting her husband, who has been in the service for more than twenty months and has two children, discharged. Schwabe has been working diligently to pass a bill for the automatic discharge of such men, but has faced opposition. He has been able to help some individuals with extreme hardship situations obtain their discharge and offers to assist Mrs. Thurber if she can provide evidence of such hardship.
