Title: Efforts to Release Fathers from the Service, 1946-04-01
Scope and Contents
Mrs. Pinion wrote to George B. Schwabe asking for help with a bill to release fathers from the armed forces. Schwabe had personally discussed the issue with the President, introduced a bill in Congress, and tried to push it through the House, but was unsuccessful due to opposition. Schwabe thanked Mrs. Pinion for her support and acknowledged her efforts in advocating for the release of fathers from the service.
