Amendment to National Service Life Insurance Act of 1940, 1941-06-03
Scope and Contents
This act, passed in 1944, made changes to the National Service Life Insurance Act of 1940. It allowed for the continuation of insurance coverage for individuals in active military service as commissioned officers, even if premiums were not paid. It also ensured that insurance benefits would not be denied for those who died before July 1, 1942, due to inadequate procedures for premium deductions. Any liabilities under this act would be covered by the National Service Life Insurance appropriation.
