Scope and Contents
Miss Ethel A. Smith wrote a letter to Honorable George B. Schwabe urging his support for the Gurney Bill, S. 2303. Schwabe responds, stating that he has not yet considered the bill as it has not come to the House for consideration. He acknowledges the importance of amendments in perfecting a bill and assures Smith that he will give her views serious consideration. Smith expresses her hope that the bill will be passed without amendment.
