Title: Fighting for Education: A Mother's Plea and a Congressman's Response, 1945-10-08

Scope and Contents

Mrs. J.H. Jackson wrote to Congressman George B. Schwabe requesting that her son, who is serving in the army and has not completed his schooling, be discharged so he can finish his education. Schwabe responds by explaining that he has introduced bills in Congress to address the situation and is fighting for the rights of 18-year-old boys in the service. He acknowledges her concerns and reassures her that he is working to help these boys every day.
