Legislation and Discharge of Service Members: A Letter from George B. Schwabe, 1945-08-27
Scope and Contents
Mrs. Donnelly wrote to Congressman Schwabe asking for help in getting her son, who was taken out of school and into the service at 18, discharged and returned home from Europe. She feels that her son has done his share in combat and should be allowed to come home. Congressman Schwabe responds by informing her of his efforts to introduce legislation on this issue and expresses sympathy as he also has four sons in the service. He promises to do all he can to help her and other families in similar situations.
