Scope and Contents

George B. Schwabe acknowledges receiving a letter from Philip J. Kramer regarding building up the strength of the Army and Navy through voluntary enlistment. Schwabe informs Kramer that he has taken up the issues of discharge and induction of 18-year-olds with the President and Secretary of War, and provides copies of relevant letters. Schwabe expresses his support for the boys in service and shares his personal stance on the matter. Kramer had suggested ceasing selective service or drafting, and Schwabe promises to assist further if needed.
