Congressional Concerns: A Call for Change, 1945-05-09
Scope and Contents
The letter discusses concerns about young men being drafted into the military at 18 years old and the need for them to have the opportunity to go to college for at least a year before being put into combat duty. There is also mention of efforts to pass legislation requiring 6 months of training before overseas duty, as well as the hope for more relaxations and less rigid rules now that the war in Germany is over. Additionally, there is a plea for Congress to take responsibility and support small businesses.
