Scope and Contents

Mr. and Mrs. Hassell wrote a letter to George B. Schwabe requesting at least a year's training for 18-year-old boys before they go to sea. Schwabe acknowledges their letter and states that he is working to correct the situation. He sends them a copy of the Congressional Record and encourages them to write to him about any other issues they are interested in.
