Urgent Plea for Military Training: A Letter from George B. Schwabe, M.C., 1945-03-26

Scope and Contents

Mrs. Charles A. Gibbs wrote a letter to Congressman George B. Schwabe, expressing concern about the lack of training for 18-year-old boys before they are put into combat service. Congressman Schwabe agrees with her and mentions his own son who was sent overseas without much training. He is actively protesting against the military's policies and plans to include information in the Congressional Record. He asks Mrs. Gibbs to contact him if she needs assistance and sends his best wishes to her family.
