Scope and Contents

The letter writer disagrees with Mr. and Mrs. Manion's support for re-enacting O.P.A. permanently and believes that representatives of the people should express the wishes of the people rather than just following the President's direction. The writer also agrees with the idea of eventually eliminating price controls, but believes it should be done in a way that allows for competition to determine reasonable prices. The writer criticizes the influence of bureaucrats and pressure groups on Congress and believes that the current system of price controls is not fitting for the American economy.
