Scope and Contents

The letter from George B. Schwabe, M.C., responds to Mr. and Mrs. O.B. Irizarry's request for support of the President's plan against inflationary crisis. Schwabe expresses his belief that the majority of his constituents are against O.P.A. and criticizes the bureau as un-American and responsible for inflation. He suggests that the New Deal philosophy of planned economy has caused inflation and advocates for cutting out deficit spending. Schwabe acknowledges the distress of the Irizarry's but states that he cannot support the current administration's approach. He emphasizes the importance of hearing views from his constituency and ends the letter with well wishes.
