Scope and Contents

Mrs. Etta Kirk wrote to George B. Schwabe, a member of Congress, asking him to vote for the OPA bill to prevent the cost of living from rising too high. Schwabe responded by expressing his belief that the OPA was a bad federal bureau that created inflation and black markets. He believes in the American principle of free enterprise and states that most of his constituents want him to vote against the OPA.
