Price Control and the Resurrection of O.P.A.: A Letter to Representative George Schwabe, 1946-07-11
Scope and Contents
The letter is from Mr. and Mrs. Richard Feldman urging Representative George Schwabe to support the resurrection of the O.P.A. or a strong price control bill as it will determine their vote in the upcoming election. Schwabe responds by stating he will vote in the best interest of his district and the nation, and expresses his belief that price controls are not suitable for a peace time economy. He also criticizes the administration of the O.P.A. and states that inflation exists despite claims to the contrary. The letter from the Feldman's is a similar plea for Schwabe to support price controls.
