The O.P.A. Debate: A Call for Action, 1946-06-07

Scope and Contents

The letter is from Mr. Schwabe to Mr. Frances discussing the results of a referendum on whether the O.P.A. should be continued. The majority of people were against the extension of the O.P.A., with farmers and World War I veterans particularly opposed. Mr. Frances urges Mr. Schwabe to consider the will of the people and not be influenced by lobbyists in regards to the O.P.A. discontinuance, expressing concerns about the potential consequences of lifting price ceilings.
