Resolution Urging Support for OPA Price Controls for Teachers and Salaried Workers, 1945-11-17
Scope and Contents
The Oklahoma Education Association is urging the Honorable George B. Schwabe, a member of the House of Representatives, to consider the impact of the Office of Price Administration (OPA) on teachers' salaries. They believe that if the OPA were to break down, teachers and other salaried individuals would suffer greatly. They also express their concerns about the disparity between tax reductions for salary-wage earners and corporate businesses, and urge for continued OPA price controls to prevent inflation. The resolution was approved by the OEA Board of Directors in November 1945.
