Opposition to O.P.A. Resurrection: A Letter of Support and Encouragement, 1946-06-27
Scope and Contents
Mrs. Alie C. Lloyd from Tulsa, Oklahoma wrote to Congressman George B. Schwabe expressing her opposition to the resurrection of the O.P.A. Schwabe responded by reiterating his consistent opposition to the O.P.A. and his commitment to abolishing it. He thanked Mrs. Lloyd for her encouragement and support in the fight against the O.P.A. and assured her that he would not help bring back such imposition on the people. Another letter from Mrs. Olie B. Hour expressed support for Schwabe's campaign and criticized price control, suggesting that it had failed in keeping prices in line and improving wages.
