Scope and Contents

Mr. George B. Schwabe received a letter from Mr. Cy Selfridge expressing disapproval of the enactment of legislation involving further price controls. Schwabe agrees with Selfridge's sentiments and has included his letter in the Congressional Record. Selfridge believes that reinstating the OPA would harm industry and the economy, and instead suggests reducing bureaucracy and giving more power to elected officials. Selfridge also believes that the country is in worse shape now than during the war, and advocates for more responsibility for elected officials in running the government.
