Scope and Contents
The document consists of letters from Mr. and Mrs. Newhouse expressing their opposition to the O.P.A. (Office of Price Administration) and their support for Congressman George B. Schwabe's efforts to restrict the bureau's powers. They believe that the O.P.A. is detrimental to free enterprise in America and that it is time for a "house cleaning" to combat Communism. Mr. Schwabe expresses his agreement with their views and his actions in opposing the O.P.A. in Congress.
