The Fight Against New Deal Policies: A Letter from George B. Schwabe, M.C., 1946-06-10
Scope and Contents
The letter is from George B. Schwabe, a member of Congress, to Mrs. Nevada Gillespie expressing opposition to the O.P.A. requirement for retailers to absorb increased prices. Schwabe believes that the New Deal Administration is trying to put small merchants out of business and is fighting against their policies. He asks for support from Mrs. Gillespie and others while he is in Washington fighting against what he sees as socialistic and communistic ideas.
