Scope and Contents

The letter is from George B. Schwabe, a member of the House of Representatives, to Edward Soph, expressing his opposition to the continuation of the Office of Price Administration (OPA). Schwabe commends Soph for his logical reasoning against the OPA and states that he has consistently voted against it. He also mentions that despite efforts by others to negotiate with OPA bureaucrats, there may not be much relief as long as the OPA has the support of the President and the New Deal majority in Congress. Schwabe encourages Soph to continue the fight against the OPA and encloses copies of his recent speeches on the topic.
