Current Issues and Concerns: A Letter to Congressman Schwabe, 1946-06-19
Scope and Contents
Cline L. Mansur, a civil engineer from Vinita, Oklahoma, wrote to Congressman George B. Schwabe expressing his views on the OPA and the Case Bill. He requested a copy of the "Bloom Bill" and urged support for OPA controls to combat inflation and for legislation to regulate labor unions. Congressman Schwabe responded, agreeing with Mansur's concerns about OPA and the Case Bill, and expressing his skepticism about the effectiveness of OPA and the current administration's handling of it. He also shared his doubts about the President's willingness to sign any long-term legislation to regulate unions.
