Scope and Contents
The letter dated May 27, 1946 written by George B. Schwabe to H.C. Holderman expresses agreement with Holderman's opposition to the O.P.A. Schwabe criticizes the O.P.A. for its practices and attempts to destroy free enterprise in America. Schwabe mentions his voting record against the O.P.A. extension and amendments to restrict its powers. Holderman's letter to Schwabe dated April 22, 1946 suggests adding a clause to the O.P.A. act to prevent landlords from raising rents excessively.
