The Fight Against O.P.A: A Letter from George B. Schwabe, 1946-05-16
Scope and Contents
The letter from the Bartlesville Real Estate Board to George B. Schwabe discusses the housing shortage in Bartlesville and blames the Office of Price Administration (OPA) for causing difficulties in obtaining materials and increasing prices. The Board recommends the discontinuance and abolishment of the OPA, believing that it has served its purpose and that the nation should return to a system of free enterprise. They urge Schwabe to use his influence to curtail or abolish the OPA. Schwabe responds by stating his consistent opposition to the OPA and his voting record against its extension, and reassures the Board of his support in their position.
