Addressing the Future of the Tri-State Mining District, 1946-08-05
Scope and Contents
The letter written by Bruce Williams to George B. Schwabe discusses the temporary relief provided by the extension of OPA and subsidies on lead and zinc, and expresses concern about what will happen to the Tri-State Mining District once OPA passes out of the picture. Williams suggests a permanent solution is needed to ensure the operation of the mines until they are completely mined out, and proposes transferring subsidies to the RFC or another governmental agency. Schwabe is asked to share his views on the subject.
