Efforts to Secure Premium Payments for Lead and Zinc Mines in Tri-State District, 1946-06-30
Scope and Contents
The letter from George B. Schwabe, M.C. to John Wallace discusses the payment of premiums on copper, lead, and zinc for mining operations in the Tri-State District. Schwabe contacted the Reconstruction Finance Corporation to make these payments, but was informed that they would not be made until the revival of the OPA. Schwabe also wrote a letter to John R. Steelman regarding the resumption of mining operations. He lists the individuals and companies he has been in communication with regarding the issue. Schwabe expresses doubt about the passing of any bill until the OPA is revived and emphasizes the responsibility of the administration in addressing the situation.
