Correspondence Regarding Premium Price Plan Payments on Lead and Zinc, 1946-06-30
Scope and Contents
George B. Schwabe, a congressman, informs John Parks Jr. about the retroactive payment of premiums on copper, lead, and zinc by the Reconstruction Finance Corporation. He explains the delay in these payments due to the veto of the OPA bill by the President and the need for legislative action. Schwabe also criticizes the administration for not making these payments earlier and denies responsibility for the situation. John Parks Jr. responds by suggesting that Schwabe is not placing blame correctly.
