Support for Old Age Assistance Legislation, 1945-01-26
Scope and Contents
The letter is from George B. Schwabe, a member of Congress, in response to a request for support of old age assistance legislation. Schwabe expresses his sympathy for older people and suggests that only US citizens over the age of 65 should qualify for assistance, eliminating the need for investigators and increasing monthly payments. He assures the recipient that he will do what he can to support old age assistance.
