Payment for Choctaw and Chickasaw Nation Coal Lands, 1949-05-25
Scope and Contents
Mr. Robert L. Parish has written a letter to Congressman Carl Albert inquiring about payment to members of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations for the sale of their coal lands to the government. Congressman Albert responds, explaining that living enrolled members will be paid first, with checks sent out by the Indian Office. Payments to heirs of deceased members will require proof of heirship. Parish asks for more information on how payments will be made, and Albert assures him that he will help with any further questions.
