Mrs. Boyer wrote to Congressman James R. Jones inquiring about the status of the G.I. Bill, which would increase benefits for veterans attending college. She expressed her struggles to make ends meet with her husband's current benefits. Congressman Jones responded, acknowledging the receipt of her letter and informing her that both the House and Senate have passed bills to increase benefits. He assured her that he supported the House bill, which would increase benefits by 13.6 percent, and that her views would be considered when the compromise bill is reported back for final consideration.
