Proposal to Limit Federal Funding for Retired Speaker of the House Offices, 1995 January 26

Scope and Contents

The document is a response from Member of Congress Dick Armey to a constituent about the federal government's spending on retired Speakers of the House. Armey believes that while it is reasonable to provide a retired Speaker with an office to finish public work, the current policy of indefinite public funding for their office should be limited to two years.
