Scope and Contents

The letter from Carl Albert to Mr. J. H. Dukes acknowledges receipt of a letter regarding coal and asphalt lands. There is a meeting scheduled between Tribal Officials and the Department of Interior to reach an agreement on the matter. Albert promises to push the issue to a successful conclusion and mentions a bill in Congress Carl Albert to extend lease terms, but he will only support it if the rights of the Indians are fully protected. He appreciates the letter and encourages further communication.
