Scope and Contents

The Mayor of Arkansas City, Kansas, Erwin E. Knocke, wrote to Congressman Tom Steed expressing concerns about the Chilocco Indian School not receiving a promised planning grant. The school is important to the local community and has a long history, but has been overlooked in favor of other schools in the area. Knocke is seeking clarification on why Chilocco has been delayed in receiving funding. Congressman John N. Happy Camp, who represents the district where Chilocco is located, is also involved in addressing the issue.
