Scope and Contents

The Inter-Tribal Council of the Five Civilized Tribes expressed appreciation and support for the Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center Program in a resolution adopted on April 11, 1969. They also recognized the need for legal aid for American Indians and supported the Legal Services Program of the Office of Economic Opportunity, specifically the Adair-Delaware County, Oklahoma program. They pledged efforts to ensure legal services are available to all eligible Indians in Oklahoma and announced support for the Legal Services for the Poor Act, 1969.
