Scope and Contents

Mrs. George Prentice Riley wrote to Congressman Page Belcher seeking financial aid for her children's education, but was informed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs that her children do not qualify for their benefits due to not meeting the required Indian blood percentage. The Bureau suggested looking into other federal aid programs and speaking with Okmulgee State Technical School for assistance. Congressman Belcher promised to look into the matter further and provide assistance.
