Scope and Contents

The Council of American Indians of Tulsa, Oklahoma was formed to promote the welfare and image of Indian people. They are concerned about derogatory statements in a recent report on the Chilocco School made by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and believe the report was handled inappropriately and may have negatively impacted the public image of American Indians. They support the Commissioner of Indian Affairs in addressing the issues at the Chilocco School.
