Congressman Page Belcher is in contact with the Bureau of Indian Affairs regarding the situation at Chilocco Indian School and the possibility of contracting with a private organization for its operation. The alumni association and faculty members deplore and condemn the proposal to contract educational services without consulting Indian people in high tribal positions. Congressman Belcher assures that he will do everything he can to keep the school and will provide updates on the matter.
