Scope and Contents

State Representative John Howe wrote to Congressman Page Belcher about the substandard and overcrowded conditions at the Chilocco Indian School. The school is in need of a new dormitory to house the increasing number of students. Congressman Belcher assured Howe that he would take up the matter with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and do what he could to improve the conditions at the school.
