Scope and Contents
A proposed amendment to bill S. 1017, which aims to promote maximum Indian participation in government and education, provide support for Indian tribes in federal programs, upgrade Indian education, and support Indian control over educational activities. The proposed amendment includes provisions for education of Indians in public schools, administration of contracts, funding for special or supplemental educational needs of Indian students, and the authority of Indian tribes to contract under the Act.
