Legislative Objectives for American Indian Self-Determination, 1973-10-17
Scope and Contents
The National Council on Indian Opportunity is urging support for Senate concurrent resolution 48 and the President's Indian Legislative Program. They recommend sending letters to Senator Abourezk and Representative Meedes, who are chairmen of the Senate and House Committees on Indian Affairs, to encourage them to report the legislation favorably. They emphasize the importance of reflecting the American Indian mood through letters to increase the likelihood of the legislation being considered by Congress.
