Response to House Resolution 718: Busing for Racial Balance and Education Funding, 1975-06-12
Scope and Contents
The Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare responded to a resolution regarding the busing of school children for racial balance. The Department does not require or fund busing for this purpose, and regulations prohibit the use of federal funds for transportation in desegregation efforts. The letter explains the regulations and programs related to desegregation activities and provides information on the criteria for receiving assistance under the Act.
