Scope and Contents

The Office of the Tribal Chairman, Joe Pedro, of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma is expressing concerns and reservations about the President's Reorganization Plan. They feel there has not been adequate consultation with Indian tribes regarding the proposed changes and are requesting a suspension of action until consultation is complete and a specific policy outline is developed. The letter is addressed to President Jimmy Carter and copies are sent to various government officials.
