Update on Indian Education Act Grants for Fiscal Year 1976, 1976-02-27
Scope and Contents
The letter provides information on the Indian Education Act and the grants available for the Fiscal Year 1976. Part A provides funding for Indian students in Local Education Agencies, with a set-aside for Indian-controlled schools. Parts B and C provide funding for special projects and adult education programs for Indians. Applications for all parts were due in early 1976, and a review process involving staff, field readers, and the National Advisory Council on Indian Education will determine successful applicants. Any questions should be addressed to the Office of Indian Education in Washington, D.C.
