Scope and Contents

The Principal Chief of the Choctaw Nation, Harry J.W. Belvin, is thanking the Speaker of the House, Carl Albert, for considering an add-on appropriation for the construction of Indian health clinics. He clarifies that the appropriation should be added to the HEW budget, not the Interior Department budget. He also mentions ongoing efforts to assist the Pocahontas Arts and Crafts Center. Additionally, there is a proposal for the construction of three buildings by the Choctaw Nation Enterprises, Inc., which aims to develop Southeastern Oklahoma. The Speaker acknowledges the proposal and promises to study it further. There is also mention of materials compiled by the Public Health Service for the construction of health clinics in different counties in the Choctaw Nation.
