Scope and Contents
S. J. Res. 133 establishes the American Indian Policy Review Commission to review the historical and legal relationship between American Indians and the Federal Government. The Commission will be composed of 15 members, with Congressional members serving without compensation and Indian members receiving a daily allowance. The Commission is granted the power to hold hearings and subpoena witnesses, and is authorized to access information from government agencies. A budget of $2 million is allocated for the Commission's expenses, including salaries, studies, and surveys.
