1977 Memorandum on the Codification of Title 25 of the U.S. Code: A Project by the Select Committee on Indian Affairs, 1977-11-16
Scope and Contents
The Select Committee on Indian Affairs is working on consolidating, revising, and codifying laws relating to Indian Affairs in Title 25 of the U.S. Code. They are following recommendations from the American Indian Policy Review Commission and have prepared drafts for certain chapters. The majority budget has covered the project costs so far but is now asking for the minority to share in the cost to continue the project. Senator Dewey Bartlett is being asked to approve funding for three law clerks to work on the Title 25 revision project. The current chapter outline of Title 25 and proposed part and chapter outline of the new code are provided in the memorandum.
