Scope and Contents
Congressman George B. Schwabe received a letter from Ted Livingston, Post Commander of Sullivan Lewis Post No. 182, urging him to oppose bill H.R. 2346 which grants members of the Merchant Marine similar rights to veterans under the G.I. bill. Schwabe agrees with Livingston's position and believes that the bill is unlikely to pass. He assures Livingston that he will vote against the measure if it comes to the House for a vote.
