Supporting the British Loan: A Letter to Congressman Schwabe, 1946-02-15 - 1946-02-15
Scope and Contents
Mrs. J. E. Galley wrote a letter to Congressman Schwabe urging him to vote in favor of the proposed loan to Britain. She listed reasons why she believed the loan would be beneficial, including Britain's promise to purchase U.S. goods, abolish blocked sterling, avoid discriminations against importing U.S. goods, and cooperate on multilateral world trade. The letter was received by the Congressman's secretary, A. L. Warren, who assured Mrs. Galley that the Congressman would consider her views on the issue.
