Concerns Over Strikes and Education: Correspondence Between George B. Schwabe and Jay P. Walker, 1945-10-30 - 1945-10-30
Scope and Contents
The letter from George B. Schwabe to Jay P. Walker discusses the strike situation in the country and the issue of pensions for defense plant workers. Schwabe also expresses sympathy for Walker's son's situation and discusses his efforts to introduce a bill to release boys from the Army who have not completed their education. In response, Walker expresses frustration with the lack of leadership in Washington and asks for information about the status of a private in the army who was deferred for a chemistry course but later drafted.
